About Us
Who is Running Warm Homes Suffolk?
Living in a cold, damp or mouldy home can have a serious impact on your health, especially if you have medical conditions or are a child or older person.
This initiative has been set up by councils in Suffolk to help households reduce their fuel bills, reduce their carbon footprint and tackle cold, damp and mould in their homes that could be making them unwell. Funding comes from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero as part of its aim to upgrade the energy efficiency of properties across the UK. The initiative is helping Suffolk work towards its target of Net Zero by 2030.
Our Contractors
We know making alterations to your home can sometimes be quite daunting, so we want to make sure you have that warm feeling you get when you know you’re in safe hands. We’ve carefully selected the companies who will be working with us to install your energy saving measures, choosing them for their competence, their attention to detail and their customer service. See them here.
Warmth That Doesn’t Cost the Earth
Heating our homes can be costly, both financially and environmentally. The less efficient at retaining heat a property is, the more energy is needed to bring it to a comfortable temperature and keep it there. Generating this energy increases the amount of carbon released into the air and uses up precious natural resources. And each unit of energy you use increases your bill, so if heat is escaping your home too easily then you’re losing money with it.
By making our homes as energy-efficient as possible we can cut down on how much it takes to heat them. This in turn reduces your carbon footprint and helps in the fight against climate change. It also means your energy bills will be lower, at a time when prices are at a record high.
Warm Homes, Healthy People
Warm Homes Suffolk isn’t the only help available for people who are struggling with energy bills. Warm Homes, Healthy People is a project which helps vulnerable people and families make their homes cheaper to heat, improving health and wellbeing. There is extra help available that eligible residents in Suffolk can benefit from, including emergency fuel payments and help with boiler issues. Find out more about it here.
