Grants for wall and loft insulation, solar panels and air source heat pumps

Check if you're eligible

Living in a cold, damp or mouldy home can have a serious impact on your health, especially if you have medical conditions or are a child or older person.

Cold temperatures raise blood pressure and increase the likelihood of heart attacks, stroke, breathing problems, poor mental health and falls.

By making your home a warm one you’re far more likely to live a happier, healthier life.

What are Warm Homes Suffolk grants for?

We can provide energy efficiency grant funding to eligible households to make them warmer and cheaper to run. We will arrange a home survey to see how your home could be made more energy efficient. After this we might suggest and provide grants for improvements like:

  • Wall insulation

  • Loft and roof insulation

  • Solar panels

  • Air source heat pumps

  • High heat retention storage heaters

We do not provide grants for: boiler replacement or repairs, first time gas, oil or LPG boilers, direct support with energy bills or renovation works.

Once your eligibility is confirmed we’ll provide you with an information pack. This will explain what to expect from the grant, survey and install process.

Who can get the Warm Homes Suffolk grant?

We can make the biggest difference by improving the least energy efficient properties in the county, so we want to hear from you if your home has an EPC rating of D, E, F or G. If you’re not sure what your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating is, you can check it here. If you do not have an EPC or it is expired, we can provide you with one.

Grants to help insulate and make your property more energy efficient are available if you’re a homeowner or private tenant.

You may qualify if your EPC is D, E, F or G and meet one of the below eligibility routes:

  1. Your gross (pre-tax) household income is under than £36,000

  2. You live in a pre-eligible postcode - check your postcode here

  3. You or someone in your household receive a Means Tested Benefit (excluding lodgers or those in full time education). Means tested benefits include Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance.

  4. You have a severe or long-term health condition, which is adversely affected by living in a cold home and is a cardiovascular condition, a respiratory disease, limited mobility or immunosuppression.

If your home is in a pre-qualified postcode area, you do not need to meet the income criteria of the grant scheme. Use our pre-qualified postcode search tool on our website to see if you are in a pre-qualified area. Landlords whose tenants qualify for support can receive one property upgrade fully funded and thereafter a fifty percent contribution is required for subsequent properties.
